Recently I received a link to your blog regarding photo's from the 1900's to 40's. How fun! As an old car guy I totally enjoyed them and sent the link on to all my car buddies. I checked out your blog on the 67 Plymouth cop car. I am a retired police officer (Washington State) and my first commission was in 1970 as a deputy for the Thurston County Sheriff. (county seat is Olympia Washington, the state capitol) My first car was a 67 Plymouth Fury 1. It had a 383 and was a screamer! (at least for the time) One major difference was the overhead lights. At the time the twin lights were not available- We had one "bubble" light, rotating on top, that held two small sealed beam lights. The lens was red, as blue was not yet being used. Blue later proved to be more visible in fog and was put in use, quite often in tandem with a red light. This combination is still used today. At that time there were no radio repeaters, and the radio, mounted in the trunk was huge. It drew a lot of power and could dim the lights when you were transmitting. The antenna was a 6 foot "whip" style.
